On Wednesday, Dan and Helen flew to Baltimore to pick up Jeannie's car (thanks James and Ster for driving it there) and to start the cross country trip to move Jeannie to San Francisco. Along the way, we are stopping to take in some tourist destinations. Here we have the famous bell that rang for liberty that has a crack in it.
This famous hall was used as the building where out forefathers signed the document that declared our freedom from England. Also the Constitution was written and signed here.
Further inland, this famous winter encampment was where George Washington and his troops camped during the winter of 1777 - 1778. This is Washington's headquarters. Two thousand troops were lost to disease that winter.
Dan and Helen spent the night in the capital city of Pennsylvania along the banks of the Susquehanna River. The weather has been just beautiful.
Our last clue for our first stop along our journey is the famous Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich from Geno's. If you guessed in and around Philadelphia, you are correct. More to come on our next portion of the trip.
