After Dan and Helen picked up Jeannie in Cleveland, our next stop was Columbus and The Ohio State University. Helen hasn't been to OSU since 1978 and the campus has changed a great deal. Jeannie and Dan were surprised at how large the university is. Apparently from this picture, there is a difference of opinion!
We made a stop at Helen's sorority house - Alpha Chi Omega. The house was locked up for the summer. But still looks the same as when she attended in the mid 1970s. It was fun visiting my university and showing my family. Just wish Erin and Allison could have been here!
After crossing the Ohio River, we headed into Kentucky. Another new state for Dan and Jeannie. Dan's paternal grandfather was born in Horse Cave, Kentucky and we have always heard about the little town. We finally visited this little burg! And we do mean little!
After we dropped Dan off at the Nashville airport to fly home, Jeannie and Helen walked through downtown "Music City". We had dinner there and then attended a country music concert with Darius Rucker on the Riverfront. The fireworks at the end were terrific and there was estimated to be over 100,000 people who watched from the Riverfront area. The trip is going just great! We are seeing some fabulous areas of our country. More later. . .
