California 2

So here are some more pics from CA. The first is of Roots in her "Pretty Princess" bassinet maybe doing the YMCA dance? The next is a family picture at Megan and Dan's place. The third picture is Megan and I kayaking in Morro Bay. That was a lot of fun, but more tiring then we were expecting. Last but not least there is a cousin shot of Rooter and Gavin together at the park.

California 1

Here are some pics from our trip to California. James had a conference to attend in Anaheim so Megan and Brielle decided to tag along for the ride. The first picture shows Brielle (Roots) on her first air plane ride. She did a great job with that and did not cry too much at all. The second picture was taken in San Luis Obispo in Bubble Gum Alley. The gum on all the walls is several inches thick, so gross yet so cool. The third picture is Ster and Roots at the Morro Bay house with Golden Poppies (state flower) in the background. The next picture is of us at Montana de Oro State Park. We went on a hike on the bluffs behind us. The last picture was taken at a beach near Hearst Castle and those are elephant seals in the background. They were really fun to watch and listen to (the made noises that you would hear in a men's locker room!). We will post a few more pics in the next post...

Summer Fun NOT in Roseville!

This will be the first summer that we haven't had any of our girls living at home. However, they are off on new adventures and looking forward to pursuing their interests. Allison will be spending 6 weeks in Cusco, Peru on a Cal Poly Exchange Program. She will be attending classes there in addition to taking side trips to Macchu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the Amazon basin. Jeannie returned to the Coast Guard Academy after spending 2 weeks of leave time home with the family. She will be a cadre for the incoming freshmen class, indoctrinating them into Academy life. After graduating from University of CA at Riverside, Erin will be spending the summer on Nantucket Island with an internship working with the historic sites of that area. She hopes to pursue her interest of museum education programs in the fall in Washington DC. Before boarding their flights, the girls just had to have one last In-n-Out meal! Just remember how great those shakes taste! Stay safe and keep a great attitude!

A Graduation and Brielle and Gavin's First Cousin Convention

The first picture is almost the entire family, with Grammie and Grampie in the center, at the college graduation party for Erin and Ian. The second picture is when we took a quick trip to Morro Bay. Gavin made the trip at two weeks and Brielle was 6 weeks old. We hiked at Montana de Oro and both of the babies were great during the hike. Finally, Brielle and Gavin have spent a lot of time together and donned their BYU t-shirts in preparation for being the class of 2028.

Babies and a Baby Bear

The first picture is of Baby Gavin on his first day home from the hospital. . .not bad for two days old. The second picture is of the mother bear that wandered into our yard yesterday, with her new baby. Erin and Ian are holding cousins, Brielle and Gavin, and finally Megster is holding a sleeping Brielle at Ian and Erin's graduation party.

Live from Verona

City streets are the best place to get wireless signals so I am sitting here in the middle of a street in Verona (home of the famous Romeo and Juliet). It is a beautiful city and although these pictures will come later I wanted to throw some up on the blog. I don't think that I am violating blogging rules (sorry Gavin) but if I am please let me know. I hopefully will be able to continue to post over the next couple of days.

A little about the pictures:
  • Kind of a cool picture of the castle in Prague.
  • Making pasta with Stefania Battistini. She was a missionary at the same time as me in Milano and Bergamo but lives in Rome so I stayed with the family for a couple of days.
  • The forum of Pompeii withe Mt. Vesuvius in the background.
  • I then took just a two hour trip down to Sorrento after visting Pompeii.
  • This is possibly the greatest place in Rome because of the gardens and the serenity of the area. It is call Villa d'Este and is beautiful. The picture here is of me standing in front of a long line of waterfalls (Cento fontane).
Hope you liked the pictures. I'll hopefully be able to send more later. CIAO CIAO.

Gavin Daniel is the name

Megan and Danny decided upon the name of Gavin Daniel Warnick. Pictured here is the family as we all took dinner down to the hospital for Megan and Danny. Also, the second picture is of Gavin in his bassinet. Finally, Auntie Erin and Grammie are holding Gavin.

Welcome Baby Warnick

Today, at approximately 8 a.m. Megan and Danny became the parents of a 9 lb. 4 oz. baby boy. He was 21 inches long (and as of yet, has not been named). Both Brad and I were there for the delivery. He is healthy and alert and is eating well for being less than 12 hours old. He is awake quite a bit and seems to just like looking around in the room. Megan looks great and we were able to do quite a few laps around the maternity floor with her and the baby this afternoon. Meg went into the hospital about 8 p.m. last night, and they immediately put her on Pitocin. At about 6 a.m. she was ready to start pushing. She did an amazing job, with her labor coach Danny. Happy Birthday, Baby Warnick!
